Clydebank Musical Society

Clydebank Musical Society was formed in 1981 to provide a platform for the development of local talent in all aspects of staging musical productions and encouraging an interest in the performing arts. The society has not only fulfilled that requirement but has provided years of first-class entertainment for Clydebank and surrounding areas. The Adult Section has a thriving membership with ages ranging from 16 to 70+ years. Rehearsals begin in September and help fill the dark winter months, culminating in the show in March. Due to an overwhelming response to auditions for children for Oliver!, our Junior Section was formed in 1990 for young people in P7 to 18 years of age. This section has gone from strength to strength and we consistently have a membership of at least 60 kids, with a demand for places that far exceed the numbers we can accept. In April of each year, we hold open workshops, where they are given training by our professional staff in music, dance, and drama. A very big thank you must go to our audiences, advertisers, sponsors, and, of course, our members. None of the above would be possible without their support and loyalty!
