Thank you for inviting me to your performance of Woodley’s West End Showstoppers, I was made to feel very welcome by your FOH manager and his team. It was great to see everyone celebrating and enjoying singing songs from West End Musicals in another of WLOS’ popular review style shows. The show was a mixture of solos, duets, trios and ensemble numbers with each member of the cast participating fully in the show. The singing and dancing were cohesive, and everyone performed with great energy.
The singers were well balanced singing in harmony with lovely characterisation, complimenting each other well in their singing styles and capturing the stories of the songs. The blocking of the individual numbers and use of the stage meant that all the performers were seen and there was a good balance between the soloists and the ensemble.
The company songs brought strong singing, excellent harmonies and toe-tapping dancing and the cast worked well together to produce an exciting show combining songs from many different genres of West End Musicals. The final song was a whole group number which included audience participation and certainly brought the evening to a great close.
