[TITLE OF SHOW] is an original musical written by Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen that they wrote to enter into a festival competition. Not knowing what subject matter to base it on, they decided to write about putting on a musical for a competition, the tile of the show coming from the first question on the application form.
The musical is demanding for the four characters (plus one being the keyboard player) as they are on stage practically for the entire show (without an interval) thus requiring a lot of energy and concentration for the hour and half performance.
The show is witty, funny but one that my Mother probably would not approve – but I liked the frankness of the dialogue and, surprisingly, the plot development was more interesting than first assumed.
The small venue of the Pinewood theatre suited the “four chairs and keyboard show” perfectly. The production was superbly performed, sung, acted with interesting choreographed movement and skilled direction.
