Rock of Ages
East Berkshire Operatic Society (EBOS), Wilde Theatre
HADS wisely chose to have the children played by adults, although the way they interpreted their parts physically, vocally and mentally (the thought processes showing as they learned the lessons of growing up) soon made us forget. Sympathetic playing of the real adults making the most of the gentle humour, combined with expert sound and lighting and amazingly varied smoke effects from the tunnel, more than made up for the absence of the real trains recently seen at Waterloo Station.
