Mel Brooks’s musical version of his famous film, a real celebration of bad taste, was brought hilariously home by Ricky Players in what looked suspiciously like the West End scenery, with principal performances which could hardly have been bettered there and brilliant dancing, supporting roles and interjections performed with style by a talented and fully committed ensemble which included at least one West End performer. Superb sound and a great band which accompanied in all styles without masking words!
