The Grimms' Tales

How many amateur societies have presented “devised” theatrical shows, entirely worked out during rehearsal between the Director and Cast? Argosy bravely endorsed Sam’s ambition and he and his six-strong cast gave us versions of six of the Brothers’ Grimm’s stories in a continuous ninety minute show in a misty woodland setting using all Argosy’s technical skills. The Grimms’ repeating things three times didn’t help the pace, but held together by the MD’s atmospheric live accompaniment, it became an interesting and gripping experience.
