Thank you for your very warm welcome and the opportunity to talk to one of your co-directors as well as other members involved on the production side. I liked the way you handled the dreaded ‘elf ‘n’ safety announcement – made me laugh along with the rest of the audience.  Good Australian accent too, well done to whoever was responsible for this one.  What a blow!  To lose your appointed Director after the show had been cast must have looked like a huge problem to surmount, but how fortunate to have two such talented replacements who both worked hard to produce an excellent show.  I realise it is not easy to take the lead role and, at the same time, be responsible for some of the direction but you did a great job.  Easier perhaps for the choreographer to combine the roles but, and it is a big but, there is so much dancing and movement in this show that it must have become a fairly mammoth task.  Well done to both of you.The band accompanied well, albeit a tad overpowering at times when underscoring drowned out some dialogue.  There is such a wide range of songs in this show, from the 1930’s Jerome Kern number, A Fine Romance, through hillbilly style with Thank God I’m a Country Boy to more dramatic numbers but you all acquitted yourselves very well in all the different styles. The dance numbers were very well staged and well performed by everyone.  The named dancers were all excellent but the big plus was that dancers and ensemble performed with such a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm.  The finale especially was really excellent. The lighting was consistently good as was the sound which contributed greatly to the success of this production and on the whole the band/vocalist balance was right.  The sounds of 'wildlife' in the bush was excellent.I thoroughly enjoyed this performance and thank you all again for welcoming both my daughter and me so very warmly.
