Our House is a jukebox musical based on a book by playwright Tim Firth with music and lyrics by Madness and "It Must Be Love" written by Labi Siffre.

London lad Joe Casey on the night of his sixteenth birthday takes Sarah, the girl of his dreams, out for a romantic evening. On a whim, he breaks into a new building development to show her the view over north London. When the police come, Joe faces a tough decision: to run, or give himself up. It is at this point that the story splits in two as we follow the fortunes, and misfortunes, of Good Joe and Bad Joe.

Joe is such an energetic role to perform, as he is on stage for most of the show and the role was performed brilliantly including the very many costume changes between good and bad Joe. All of the principles worked excellently together with great chemistry, moving around the stage with ease. They principles sang tunefully blending well with lovely harmonies accompanied by an excellent band which was located high up above the stage. They were supported by an accomplished and energetic chorus who also played many small parts very effectively. All of the dances looked rehearsed and very effective. The costumes were very efffective especially those for Joe which incorportated magnets for quick changes. The set was built on multiple levels and the director made good use of the height.

What I particularly enjoyed was seeing all of the cast smiling and full of energy, right from the opening number and despite some technical issues, this was a marvellous, energetic, polished performance which I thoroughly enjoyed. Well done!
