The musical, first performed on Broadway in 1943, is based on the 1931 play “Green Grow the Lilacs” by Lynn Riggs. The musical production ran for an unprecedented 2,212 performances and has been a popular choice for amateur societies for many years.
I have seen this show many times over the years but have to say that this particular production was superbly cast and wonderfully polished choreography and spectacular set.
This is one of the best productions I have seen of Oklahoma! and my sincere thanks to all those involved in a very high standard production.
