EBOS have embraced the digital world and created an online show of Musicals Miscast III, a seventy-minute musical extravaganza brilliantly produced and edited. It's witty script with the premise of the characters from famous musicals reflecting on twelve months of lockdown was highly engaging and enjoyable. Narrated with an easy charm by Mel Hampshire revelling with sparkling eyes and a knowing smile in the clever repositioning of the musical theatre characters to the Theatrical Land of Happy Ever After. Each introduction cleverly weaves the original musical character into a lockdown (sometimes adult themed!) situation with a character from one musical singing a song from another different one.
Stuart Hayllor wrote and directed the production and has created a celebration of musical theatre for our time with wit, ingenuity, and delightful touches of humour. Duncan Bruce produced the whole thing, video, sound, and artwork, into a wonderful coherent show that is worth watching twice!
EBOS have in Lockdown fund raised with a sponsored walk which was called Bracknell to Broadway (Ealing Broadway) where 22 of them walked 40 miles over two weeks, they raised £1722, and all lost a few pounds in the process! They had a quiz night online which raised a just over £300.These events bought them back together as a society and Miscast Musicals III raised another £1000. However, like the rest of us they are looking forward to treading the boards instead of the pavements later this year!!
