I was delighted to be invited to review Little Shop of Horrors in my new role as District 13 NODA representative. This show had been two years in the making following its cancellation in March 2020 due to the pandemic. It must have been devastating to have to cancel when the show was about to open, but how marvellous that the society was able to return and perform with the same cast having had only two cast members unable take part.
The production had been extremely well cast and well directed with some great all-round performances from principals and ensemble. The quality of the singing and dancing was extremely good and the performance slick. There was an excellent set which complemented the production well. It was quite a large set which when it had the fourth iteration of Audrey 2 on stage meant that the acting area quite small, but the cast coped really well. The show was dynamic, entertaining and very enjoyable and it was great to see so many people in the audience enjoying the show. It was clear that the cast were enjoying themselves and by the last show had clearly given 110% in their performances. It was great fun and I was so glad to have been able to see the show.
