This enjoyable,  humorous play which although set mostly at a racecourse, was not all about horse racing but more about the friendships and relationships of four co-workers. The four actresses worked so well together; and their conversational dialogue had a natural easy flow which kept the pace moving at a romping gallop. I was impressed with the Yorkshire accents which the cast maintained throughout. The four actresses had great chemistry and each developed their characters really well and gave great performances. They were supported by two actors each playing three characters, a challenge that they rose to.

Despite changes to the production team roles due to work commitments they brought us a cohesive show; creating three dimensional characterisations which were natural and believable. They brought out the humour and emotions of the characters bringing the play to life. Each character’s relationships had been carefully thought through and gave creditability to their performance. I thought this set design most effective with a simple set for the fish factory and a much more lavish back drop for the races which worked very well. The staging was well thought out and the team made sure that nothing got in the way of the performances.
