This was a most fitting title for a concert which was made up of a wide variety of favourite numbers taken from concerts performed between 2007 and 2014. Some former members had also been invited to join the company in this nostalgic evening.
A junior chorus and adult chorus integrated and supported each other well providing an evening of fun and entertainment. Some of the younger members appeared a little tentative on this the opening night but soon gained confidence and relaxed as the evening progressed. With such a varied programme there was certainly something to suit all musical tastes with some very well performed solo, ensemble and full chorus numbers.
A rousing ‘Fame’ got the evening off to a lively start and the first half romped along with an excellent ‘Dreams’ sung by Amy and the full company in good voice particularly in ‘I Will Follow Him’ and ‘Another Brick In The Wall’. The Junior Chorus gave it their all in the spirited ‘Zap-A-Dee-Doo-Dah’
The second half of the programme also provided us with some impressive solo performances. Iona’s ‘Hushabye Mountain’, ‘This Is The Moment’ sung by David and Caty’s ‘Colours Of The Wind’ being particularly memorable and receiving tremendous ovation from the audience. Again the Junior Chorus were in fine voice with their ‘Joseph Medley’ while the adult company made a great sound demonstrating their harmony singing in ’Oh, What A Circus’.
The company was most fortunate in being supported by a very good four piece band.
This is a small community group who all perform in a most relaxed and informal manner with a real sense of team work which the capacity audience obviously enjoy and support. The final ‘Don't Stop’ and ‘The Time Warp’ concluded a most enjoyable evening of song and left the appreciative audience wanting more. Very well done to all involved.
