What a clever way to celebrate what we have missed in Lockdown, a revue that offers a taste of the productions that we should have seen and a showcase for this talented company of singers and dancers. Staged on the set of Chicago that should have run in 2020 with an excellent 10-piece band surrounded by walkways, the cabaret format showcased music from 42nd Street , Chicago, Annie, Back to the Eighties and Miscast Musicals III (EBOS’s excellent lockdown streamed production) .

Natalie Hayllor as Director and Choreographer has done a phenomenal job stitching the pieces together with some vibrant well drilled choreography, plenty of nice touches of humour and a slick fast-moving format to make the most of her excellent singers and large troupe of dancers. Together the cast of twenty-four created a show that is entertaining and a joyous celebration for them and the audiences to be back in a live theatre

As in Miscast Musicals III, the production demonstrated that there are some clever people behind the scenes too led by Duncan Bruce, with a smart E Programme available via a QR code with production photographs included and some attractive graphics projected onto the back wall to eliminate the need for a compere and assist the flow of the show.

It seems  a very long wait until The Boyfriend in May 2022, but I look forward to seeing this Group in a full-blown narrative led musical.
