The Penelopiad
Sinodun Players, The Corn Exchange, Wallingford
A play by George Orwell in which he clearly drew on his own experiences of poverty and depravation gave us an interesting and disturbing insight into the England of the 1930’s which seems like a different rather unpleasant world to us now. This aspect was well delivered by a group that has a strong tradition of delivering excellent drama, well cast and well directed no-one could fail to be affected by it if only because there but for fortune.
