5 A Side Football Tournament

28th April 2026

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Society Showdown - an inter-society football tournament in aid of the LASTING Project! The event will take place 12-6pm on Saturday 27 June, bringing together societies from Notts/Derbys to raise money for LASTING’s ongoing work in the area as well as a great excuse to socialise!

Are you on the committee of a drama society in Notts/Derbys and want to take part? Email leosmtc@gmail.com or lastingprojecteastmids@gmail.com to register your interest by Sunday 3 May. You’ll need at least 8 interested players to take part, but don’t worry about who they are yet - we want to gauge interest! Each participant will pay a fee which covers pitch hire, a personalised shirt for the tournament and donation to LASTING. We also ask that only committee members contact us - if you want your society to be involved, talk to your committee and ask them to get in touch!

Questions? Check out our FAQs below:

When? Where?

12-6pm on Saturday 27 June at Chilwell Olympia’s 3G pitches.

Do I need to be good to play?

No! This is an event for people of all abilities and experience levels!

You mentioned a fee - how much and what does that cover?:

Each participant will pay £20, which covers pitch hire, a personalised t-shirt with society colours/number/name on it and donation to LASTING.

LASTING Project? What’s that?

The LASTING Project is a community-rooted initiative committed to making theatre accessible, inclusive, and sustainable for all within the Notts/Derbys area. Based on the principles of collaboration, quality and representation, we aim to work together to evolve our thriving amdram scene into a place where everybody feels like they belong, whether on stage, behind the scenes, or in the audience. Who can we ask to be in our team?

Participants should be members of the society they represent. Players should have been in a show with their society within the last 2-3 years.

We’re a society without a membership - what do we do?

We’re aware there are a few groups without active membership who might want to be involved - please get in touch! As long as your participants have been in a show of yours in the last 2-3 years, they can play!

I’m a member of multiple societies - can I play for both?

Participants may represent one society only. If you’re part of multiple societies, have a chat with them and see who might require players.
