The motto printed in the programme of The Pantheon Club Glasgow’s first production, The Quaker Girl, at the Theatre Royal, Glasgow on Monday 14th February 1927, was’Tis not in mortals to command success, but we’ll do more: deserve it!

Founded in a Glasgow coffee house in 1926, The Pantheon Club was established by 5 young people to embrace and promote the arts with theatre, singing, and drama.  Now, 100 years later, Pantheon is still embracing and promoting the arts for ‘deserving success’, having performed hundreds of musicals, plays, and pantomimes over the years, both in Glasgow and the west of Scotland, as well as over in Ireland.

Pantheon has seen many performers go on to professional careers, including the legendary Rikki Fulton, Molly Weir, Jack Milroy (MBE), Stewart McLean, and many more, and more recently, Sabrina Carter (in 'Wicked' and 'Oliver' in London's West End), Peter Hannah ('Waitress' in London's West End, and 'The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart' in New York City), and Connor Going ('The Choir of Man' Tour and Edinburgh Fringeand with the Pitlochry Theatre Rep Co).

With a membership of approximatly 100 current members, and regular auditions for new talent, Pantheon will continue to be a prominent feature on the Glasgow stage for many years to come.
