Kingsbridge Amateur Theatrical Society - KATS - consists of over sixty multi-talented individuals with a variety of skills, ages, experience and interests - all with one aim:
To have lots of fun staging high quality Musical and Dramatic Theatre!
Our shows are staged at Malborough Village Hall, three miles from the centre of Kingsbridge. Raked seating and a licensed bar transform the hall into a theatre. Tickets can be bought online via this website and from Kingsbridge Information Centre. We produce a musical and a comedy play each year. Both frequently sell out! We are fortunate to have experienced and inspirational directors who help us achieve award-winning standards.

For our musical we rehearse over six months on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7.30pm at Dodbrooke church hall in Kingsbridge. When we have young people involved their rehearsals will normally start at 6.30pm on Thursdays and only for an hour or so. Details do change a bit from show to show. In March we perform from Tuesday or Wednesday to Saturday in the evenings, with a Saturday matinee performance as well. There's a cast of 20-30 with as many in crucial support roles, an orchestra, hi-tech sound and lighting, great sets and costumes, smooth stage management and, of course, excellent singing, acting and dancing. We have won many awards for our musicals.

Our annual drama production starts rehearsals in May and performs with a smallish cast over four nights in early September. Usually, but not always, this will be a comedy.  Always we have great sets and costumes, smooth stage management, excellent acting and lots of laughs (and sometimes tears). We also have an enjoyable social and fund-raising calendar throughout each year. Check our website for information on what's upcoming - and how to join in!
