Forest Musical Theatre Company

 

We put on one or two full scale musicals a year at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford. We perform smaller scale productions at other venues through the year.

We rehearse in Loughton on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8-10pm and some Sundays near a show.

At Forest Musical Theatre Company we love to perform. Musicals are our first love. We are a friendly company and have fun but our aim is to put on the very best productions we can. We pick shows that many other companies wouldn’t, like Parade, Sister Act, Legally Blonde, Honk! and Hot Mikado as well as the old standards. Our greatest strength is our ability to work together as a group and perform with joy and vibrancy together. We are noted for our ensemble singing and high production standards and our ability to work as a team on and off stage. It is these kinds of strengths that enabled us to win the NODA award for best chorus work for Ragtime in 2009 and receive various other nominations. We most recently won the District 6 NODA London Awards for Best Chorus Work and Best Comedy Peformance both for Legally Blonde in 2017. We also won the district Flame Award for “The inspirational Contribution for the Pursuit of Excellence in Theatre” for our “continuing high standards in our ensemble and chorus work, the evident enthusiasm of the whole society, and the great ‘company’ feel of our productions”. 

Social events take places regularly throughout the year including those organised by the committee and impromptu events by members just because we like to all get together.
