Jekyll and Hyde - The Musical

FMTC have not shied away from presenting more challenging pieces and this show was another darker, more uncomfortable piece. The show is a combination of sung narrative, songs and acted scenes with a technically complex setting and key moments of transformation and murder – actual physical violence – all of which can give amateur companies insurmountable problems. However, they more than rose to the challenge and delivered a strong, believable, entertaining grown-up musical. A super lead perfromance with some great support from the other principals and a well drilled chorus carried the story along very well. Set, costumes and lighting all helped set the scene and the music was spot on.
