From the writers of the original television series " Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister", comes the satirical stage version.

The UK is in crisis: debt it spiraling, unemployment is on the rise and the fragile coalition cabinet, led by Prime Minister Jim Hacker, is at breaking point. But salvation may exist in the form of a complex pipeline deal with the oil-rich country of Kumranistan that would entitle the government to a multi-trillion pound loan.  With the country on the brink of financial meltdown, the PM is staring disaster in the face with the only salvation lying in a  morally dubious deal with the Foreign Minister of Kumranistan. Will Jim Hacker and his team be able to rescue the country from the edge?

Performing a play from a well-known television series is not easy.  This is a very demanding play with many lengthy and challenging pieces of dialogue from all the main characters, which requiring speed and lots of concentration.

Cabinet Secretary Sit Humphrey Abbleby  played by Bob Brown.  A very challenging character with the wordiest role to deal with, and phrases that were mind-boggling. However, some of the dialogue was lost, causing  the speeches to lose pace, and humour, but Bob portrayed Sir Humphrey very well.  Private Secretary Bernard Woolley - Alex Wilson.  Prime Minister Jim Hacker - Mark Hone and Special Advisor Claire Sutton  played by Trish Lister, again all these actors had a lot of dialogue but each and every one gave very confident and secure performances.

Self-assured BBC Director Jenny Burnham played by Janice Lewis, and BBC Presenter Brenda Chester - Shelia Halse only appear on stage for a short time, but the actors made the most of their characters.

This play has a very wordy script and the lines are not easy.  A few pieces of dialogue could have benefited from having a quicker pace, but all the actors played their characters very well and moved around the set with ease.

The production was well directed by Dawn Waudby. the set, props, lighting and sound effects were well thought out and worked well.  Congratulations to the company for a very entertaining  production .

Thank you  for the invite.  Looking forward to your next production in June.
