INSPECTOR DRAKE AND THE PERFEKT CRIME
After a difficult period I was pleased to be back to see the Thespians in their theatre in Wombwell. This comedy by David Tristram is full of tongue-in-the- cheek humour, although it may take the audience a while to get the hang of it!
John Hill as Inspector Drake was the lynch pin of the story, holding all the madness together very competently. Iain Miller was the ‘perfekt’ Sergeant Plod both in size and manner while David Tobin as the genius Dr Short looked the part and grew in confidence. Jules Porter and Joe Battye, both claiming to be the doctor’s daughters, completed the cast. As new members of the group they had a successful debut. I hope to see them again in the future.
The set was well dressed as were the cast.
I am sure the audience had a good laugh at the antics of the cast and will look forward to the next production.
