This concert production included songs from just four musicals with Wicked and The Wizard of Oz forming the first half and Cats and The Lion King making up the second.  The great thing about the show was the enthusiasm and hard work of the cast of around 20 youngsters with a reasonable age range up to mid-teens.

The older members of the team led the way with some very good performances of well known numbers including Popular and Dancing Through Life (Wicked), Over the Rainbow and the three If I only had a Brain, Heart and Nerve items from The Wizard of Oz, all of which were well acted, Gus the Theatre Cat (which was excellent) and Mr Mistoffelees from Cats along with a good selection from The Lion King.

The cast sang nicely and were choreographed in most of the numbers, many showing real potential for the future in song, dance and acting ability and this will hopefully reward the main society as time progresses.  As with many adult groups there was a shortage of boys but the small number here really came to the party as did all the younger members.

The society provided a good set using curtains and various lighting effects and the simple keyboard backing was just right and the whole show was justifiably appreciated by a friendly audience.
