Wizard of Oz

Well done to all appearing in The Wizard of OZ for Avenue Theatre Productions - mainly the Youth section. Great back projection, great sound, wardrobe, lighting, and props. Directors Jenny Wellsman and Zoe Stevens, and Choreographer Deanna King chose a good cast and brought this Wizard to your audience, showing us some good young talent.

This cast played so many parts each and they were spot on, notably Dorothy (Lucy Wood). George Hitchcock was very good and funny as Scarecrow, a great Lion characterisation from Ben Dussel as did Sarah De Gernier as Tinman. This Oz rolled along nicely and gave us a good evening in Avenue Theatre. Keep up the good work Avenue Productions.

I did notice: be careful of actors masking and upstaging each other, also if you are using back projection actors must look front not at the screen while delivering dialogue, this causes your audience to lose the plot. This Oz was backed up with an energetic ensemble of boys and girls.
