There was certainly nothing to disappoint me in this remarkable production. Everyone and everything was ‘right’ about this performance. The cast were all excellent, the set cleverly designed, the lighting, sound and costumes were ‘spot on’ and the whole being superbly directed. I looked round the audience during and after the show and decided this was most definitely what entertainment is all about.  The entire audience remained riveted to the story due partly to a first rate script but mainly to the incredible professionalism of every member of the cast.  The set worked well, the lighting and sound supported the whole show to perfection and the timing was remarkable both in the entrances and exits especially bearing in mind the age of many of the participants. The story was a bit different from the usual ‘Never-Land Tale’ making it all the more interesting.

I had the privilege of seeing Team Tiger who were very good. Lead by Josh Watts (John), Benji Taylor (Michael) and Sam Wray (Tom) they all gave it their all and should be very proud of themselves. Becca Bracewell (Wendy) was excellent, throwing off a few years and looking and acting as a young teenager, with total conviction. Gus Quintero-Fryatt has never seemed to grow any older as is expected of Peter. I have seen Gus on stage many times but he surprised me anyway.  It was an outstanding performance in every respect with brilliant sword-play thrown in. Andrew Donovan played Hook to perfection and doubled this with Mr. Darling very cleverly. Two very contrasting roles which he coped with really well.

Tess Kennedy (Tink), Roz Hall (Mrs Darling) and Amy Blasket (Tiger Lily) all gave very moving and convincing performances and were a pleasure to watch as were Chris Dale (Smee) and Martin Bracewell (Martin the cabin boy) as a pair of very different pirates both great fun to watch. These excellent principals were well supported by the rest of the cast as more pirates, mermaids and shadows.

I freely admit that I wasn’t too sure if this production would appeal to me and am delighted to say that I enjoyed every moment of it and would gladly have watched it again. Well done everyone.
