What an absolute pleasure it was to join a very excited audience at the Met
Theatre Abertillery, to see LRS Supernovas in their first major production,
“We Will Rock you”.

A perfect title because they did just that and more. From the opening scene to
the final bow, this young company made the stage electrifying with or without
the help of the excellent lighting provided by Daniel Davis.

The music of Queen has never given any vocalist an easy time and far more
experienced and mature voices have failed, in trying to maintain the timing,
control and the vocal acrobatics required.

These young performers have my greatest respect for their amazing delivery
and superb performances.

Riley Edwards as Galileo gave a superb performance both vocally and visually,
with such confidence. He made the stage totally his own.

Jude Evans as Scaramouche was outstanding and brought so much vitality to
her character. Vocally superb, she held the audience throughout her
performance.

“The Killer Queen” Caiti Beynon; What a performance. In every move she held
your attention and never for one moment was her characterisation lost. A real
professional in every way.

Lucy Harris as Khashoggi gave an excellent performance in a difficult role. Its
never easy to play the villain but I compliment her on her success in doing so.
Excellent expression and clarity of speech.

Kody Rosier as Brit and Livia Gardiner as Oz provided a great duo casting.
Excellent performances from both, showing some confident comic timing.
Hadyn Crowle as Buddy again showed such confidence, with a good
performance looking very comfortable on stage.

The principal casting for this show clearly has shown some exceptional talent
but I cannot emphasise enough that the spectacle was created by the stage
skill and choral excellence of the whole cast. This music to be heard at its best
needs enthusiasm, precision and a real team effort and this company has
shown it all. I had the greatest difficulty remembering the age of the cast, in
the light of such mature performances.

Great choreography from Lauren Barrett and Georgia Miller, took the
performance to another level.

My congratulations to you all, on your first major production and I am sure it
will not be your last. I look forward to joining you again.
