Opening in 2002 at The Dominion Theatre London and running for twelve years, this was one of the top ten longest running musicals seen in 28 countries by 16 million people, 6 million in the UK, with the iconic music by Queen, story and script written by Ben Elton.
This famous rock musical staged by the talented award winning Mayhem Youth Theatre rocked the town of Monmouth. This is an exceptional work for youth companies to perform.

It has a storyline of a science fiction future without live music and live musical instruments.

What a story, finding a way out of that!

Dedicated and enthusiastic, this young company gave a brilliant interpretation, their stagecraft and precision of the well positioned groups on stage shone, golden voiced Lucy Friend who also played Scaramouche, is to be congratulated on her direction and choreography, entrusted by Mayhem with this rock musical, it just goes to show how youngsters can excel when given the opportunity.

All the characters were very well cast and multi talented to play diverse dual parts at different performances through the week. I attended both performances.  Powerful, excellent performances were given by the outstanding  Liam Phelps as Khashoggi and Brit, Galileo, Jack Davies and Harry Cummins, Killer Queen, Lucy Edmunds, Gracie Powell  Scaramouche, Lucy Friend and Rachel Harkins Khashoggi, Liam Phelps and Archie Cowton also all gave fantastic interpretations . Bots and Khashoggi’s Minions were cool!  All  other parts were very well played.

A creative, simple set was used well by the cast and effectively brought in the wide stage to centre on the action with effective  costumes and technical.

Ruth Friend Musical Director, conducted the fabulous music by Queen with precision.

The full houses and applause for this production said it all, congratulations on a very successful We Will Rock You.
