Dementia, in its various forms, is increasingly the subject matter for drama, as this iniquitous disease has a growing impact on all our lives, whether suffering oneself or living with, caring for and suffering with, those afflicted. However, there was plenty of gentle humour throughout the play and some laugh out loud moments. There were also some really poignant moments which were well handled, without slipping into bathos. We cared about each of the characters and despite the static setting and the, sometimes, wordy exchanges, our attention was held. The result was a funny, touching and memorable piece.
