A rousing production of the Television series starring Frankie Howerd in the 60's and 70's with some very comical portrayals from all the cast. Everyone entered into the double entendres and risque gags with great enjoyment and so did the audience. The setting of ancient Pompeii (pre-eruption) was excellent and a credit to the constructors (Paul Myers, Tina Nutt, Barry Unwin, Ben Piper, Jill Spence and Mandi Rugg). All the cast played their parts with great verve and commitment led by the antics of Lurcio (Graham Siddle) and the voluptuous ladies Senna (Joanna Bucktrout), Ammonia (Carolyn Craven), Voluptua (Emily Fogarty), Erotica (Kayleigh Newsome) and Suspenda (Miranda Foxton) were a joy to behold. The male members of the cast Corneous (Richard Hunt), Ludicrous Sextus (Bernard Wilson), Captain Treacherous (Steve Morell), Kretinus (Trevor Gibson) and Nausius (Lee Sharratt) had their moments.
All in all a great fun production by Bryan Craven which brought the house down! Versuvius erupted.
