TRIAL BY JURY
This is one of those evenings when you are lucky to get two for the price of one. The first offering being Trial By Jury is the story of a case of breach of promise. The very strong cast of most experienced G. & S. principals carried the short production off with great aplomb extracting some humorous moments to enjoy and Richard Buxton gave a most eyecatching performance as The Learned Judge.
HMS PINAFORE
I think this is perhaps one of the most likeable G. & S. shows. All the characters are involved in getting much humour out of somewhat involved situations. The casting in all roles was amazingly strong. The acting and singing of Anna Trent (Josephine the Captain's daughter) and Leon Waksberg (Ralph Rackstraw) was exceptional. Robert Thurman (Sir Joseph Porter) was majestic he played the role to perfection. Stephanie Roe sang and performed in great style and David Parker was as impressive as always with his fine voice and something of a twinkle in his performance. The excellent orchestra and fine chous singing gave us a most enjoyable evenings entertainment.
