Robert Louis Stevenson's story of adventure, pirates and treasure, with the local Women's Institute added to provide extra comedy and equality, seemed a great idea for a new Panto subject. However, Argosy's chosen script lacked witty dialogue and cohesion in places, for example in trying to make fun out of the death of the Dame's husband in the first scene. Their new production team and their talented cast, including ten members of their juvenile section, worked hard to disguise its shortcomings.
