It was great to see WOW back on stage after the lockdown and in such fine form!

The staging was simple with plain black curtains and some clever lighting, this concert of a medley from musicals, didn’t need the frills and effects; the young performers added all the colour and atmosphere needed with their interpretation of the numbers and energetic dancing that just took your breath away!

The show started with Rocketman’ s,” I’m Still Standing “and I was surprised that they were by the end of the show! This was a very good start showing energy and sheer enthusiasm. This was followed by “Your Song” and “Don’t let the Sun go down on Me”, ending with “Pinball Wizard” A great opening medley

I confess I haven’t seen “Waitress “and could have listened to more,” What’s Inside”,” Opening Up and “She used to be Mine” were sung beautifully.

The Modern selection 2008-11

“Proud of your Boy” from Aladdin was sung with great feeling & “When you’re an Addams “was terrific! Along with “” Sun is Going to Shine” &” Who I’d Be” from Bright Star and Shrek respectively All beautifully performed

Les Misérables Medley was simply a showstopper, all these wonderful songs were sung with great emotion, reverence, and skill from “At the End of the Day” to! “I Dreamed a Dream”. “Do you Hear the People Sing & “Bring him Home “enthralled the audience

Modern Selection 1980-2017

“Out here on My Own “from Fame was a great choice performed well along with “Screw Loose” from Cry Baby

“Brand New You” “If Only You Would Listen” “I’d Rather be Me” sounded great and may have been new to some of the audience

The Traditional Selection “Rhythm of Life” got us all tapping! And” Together “and “Don’t Rain on my Parade “were so impressive

Dear Evan Hansen, the 2015 musical” Waving Through a Window,” Forever “and “You Will Be Found” were all done so well.

Finale,” Don’t Stop Believin” I certainly won’t stop believing in WOW it was a pleasure to listen to and watch! The costumes were so well chosen and choreographed with great effect that made scenery unnecessary

To sing to recorded music is very difficult but was done with such ease and with seamless continuity The ninety minutes went too quickly and left everyone in the audience, deprived of live performance for what feels such a long time, wanting more. What talent and what infectious enthusiasm! Many congratulations to the Cast, Director and Choreographer and to all concerned with this production.

Welcome back WOW, you certainly live up to your name!
