The Spongebob Musical

Spongebob the Musical has one of the strangest casts and settings which might make anyone unfamiliar with the Nickelodeon cartoon question whether they have inadvertently imbibed some illicit mind altering substance. Suspension of disbelief was never more required for this production, which saw a Quay Players cast embrace an alternative reality with infectious enthusiasm. This included gender-blind casting which was entirely appropriate to the piece. A strong line up of principals was supported by a very large ensemble in some impressive set pieces, with lots of pace created by simple but clever scenic design.
