WOS Productions chose the tried and tested feel-good show "The Sound of Music" for their autumn production. In all its sixty years it has always been a crowd pleaser and WOS' show was no exception. A wartime story of love and patriotism involving a widower and his seven children and a young woman with aspirations of becoming a nun with wall to wall wonderful music by Richard Rogers & Oscar Hammerstein - how could it fail? There are many great roles in the show, highly desired and well played here, but when you have seven talented youngsters aged 6-16 years, as WOS certainly did, they do rather steal the show. Although the chorus are not hugely busy in this show they certainly made their presence felt as a wonderfully tuneful choir of nuns led by a strong Mother Abbess.
