The Sound Of Music

What’s not to like about “The Sound Of Music” ? This production was under the direction of Maggie Brader and the orchestra was in the capable hands of Musical Director Liam Fletcher.

Trudi Jackson as Maria was in fine voice and played the part well. Her interaction with the children was good and they all played their parts well. They all looked as if they were enjoying themselves. Bev Evans playing the part of Mother Superior was in her element. Her style of singing suited the role and she delivered with great confidence. There were good performances from Dave Phillips as Captain von Trapp, Colin Wells as Max Detwieler and Janine Carn as Baroness Elsa Schraeder. Beth Carn as Liesl and Kieran Litchfield as Rolf were a good match and delivered their duet very well.

I felt the blacks were over used at times but overall this was a very good production and the singing was strong especially from the nuns. This was a very entertaining evening. Well done !!
