The Sorcere is one of Gilbert an Sullivan`s lesser peformed works, however Haverfordwest provided a highly entertaining mix of potion, spells and witchcraft. The chorus gave a sterling performance as is expected from this society with the audience enjoying the interplay between members.
Aline played by Madeline Wears and Alexis Christopher Tilbury were convincing as the betrothed couple and were in excellent voice.
The sorcerer played by David Bowen brought out the comedy this part required. John Davies as the naïve vicar, Gary Crane the upright baronet, Alison Phillips as lady Sang azure , Constance played by Julie Owen with Meryl Sage as her mother Mrs Parfitt all contributed to an excellent and amusing evening`s entertainment.
The orchestra conducted by the Musical Director complimented the performance and were not intrusive.
The director also ensured the performance flowed and brought out Gilbert`s satirical comedy.
