A fifties musical not often performed and yet this show has a great story line and a lively score.
Set in the Sleep-Tite pajama factory where a union dispute is brewing and as the love interest is on opposing sides we see the sparks fly and romance blossom.
Factory superintendent Sid Sorokin, well played by accomplished actor Ryan Morgan his great diction and superb voice perfect for Hey There and Small Talk.
Good chemistry with love interest Babe Williams, a strong performance by Sarah Knight whose voice blended well with Ryan to make an effective duo.
Opening the show brilliantly, we had experienced Derek Williams to command the stage as Hines and he really showed his talents to the full his rich voice raising the roof assisted by a good characterisation from Carol Bennett as Mrs Myra Hasler and Gladys was given the wow factor from lively performer Julie Griffiths. Office romeo Prez, Keiran Pryer brought comedy. All other roles were well played
This show had some very interesting factory scenes and good dance numbers and lighting design was given skilful thought to create and fit the mood of the fifties.
Excellent costumes by ACE Costumier of Tredegar and swift silent back stage crew
Well directed by Derek Williams and with the score given great pace by Geraint Bessant and his musicians. It is a pity that this not so well known show can be difficult to sell and box office slow and you deserved better houses.
Colstars gave their usual energy and commitment and made this show a very good night out.
