It was interesting to see a new adaptation of this play for the stage. With the use of very good back projection we were able to see the story unfold in several different locations which was a challenge for the technical team of lighting, sound and projection creatives. Costumes and props - all in the correct timescale of the play - were all well thought through which together with a well-drilled cast gave the audience visual delight. This production has a large cast (for a play) but their awareness of each other and interaction throughout the telling of the story ensured that they told it with conviction. It's difficult to bring well known characters to the stage but in Miss Marple, Dolly Bantry and Inspector Craddock, as the main characters, we enjoyed that lazy Sunday afternoon feeling - all we needed was tea and biscuits to go with it all.
