London Suite is based in a hotel room and centres on those that have booked it at various times. The set was excellently done, in white and claret, with every detail one would expect in a star rated hotel. My congratulations to those that designed the set and kitted it out to such a high standard.

The different scenes were well done, Settling Accounts was superb and the acting, very good, Nick Lawrence as Billy Fox trying to be as innocent as they come, whilst Raymond Tongue as Brian Cronin, threatening Billy with a gun, played the role with confidence and subtlety. Quite dramatic with the good facial expressions from Billy, funny yet serious.

Going Home with Joyce Pomeroy as Sheryl Temple and India Laurence Othen as Lauren Temple.

They did well, an extremely wordy and difficult piece, made to look too easy. They complimented each other well. Perhaps a little slow on dialogue, given the obvious American script, but none the less very enjoyable.

Diana and Sidney with Joyce Pomeroy as Diane Nichols, Sidney Nichols ( Nick Lawrence) and India Laurence Othen as Grace Chapman, all did so well ,Joyce was splendid, she was dressed beautifully and looked the part. Nicks' role was tailor made for him and had some wonderful lines delivered well, India made an excellent secretary.

To finish off the evening, 'The Man on the Floor' with Raymond Tongue as Mark Ferris who gave a great performance with his back problem, really convincing. His wife Anne Ferris (Indie Laurence Othen) was really good as the stressed wife. Mrs Sitgood, the hotel associate manager, (Sherry Jenkins) gave a super performance did very well indeed.

Dr Mc Merlin (Tim Othen Laurence) was an absolute natural, he took to this part like a duck to water. This was a very funny scene that had everyone laughing.

The director Les Hunt must be congratulated in the way he used the stage and got the best out of his cast. Some of the dialogue, demanded an American accent, the script was full of American expressions and words. I must assume that a decision was taken not to pursue this. That, in my opinion was a pity, however this did not detract too much from some wonderful characters with their storylines that held everyone’s interest from beginning to end.

An evening of great entertainment.
