This was my first visit to Nailsea Youth and I and realised that a huge amount of work was going on behind the scenes as well as onstage. A lovely projected set beautifully and seamlessly changed as we moved through the show with a Disney cartoon quality, stylishly lit and this made the perfect home for the show. Costumes certainly supported the characterisation and make-up was very fitting although a little more on King Triton would have helped him fit more into the aquatic world. I was very impressed by everyone but particularly by Ursula who showed maturity beyond her years, Ariel sang and moved with grace and Sabastian has excellent comic and the very cute Flounder really made her mark .I really liked the use of heelys (trainers with wheels), these really worked for Flounder, Flotsam and Jetsam, giving them a smooth seamless movement around the performance space. The Mermaid sisters sang their harmonies beautifully and were a vocal highlight. Prince Eric played the love struck hero with style and I he had a gentle rapport with Ariel especially in their duet.
A lovely show to a packed auditorium and enjoyed by all, congratulations everyone I look forward to my next visit.
