This play is a comedy-mystery written by Ken Ludwig, a prolific and successful American playwright. The story is set in 1936 and centres on William Gillette, a Broadway star famous for his performance as Sherlock Holmes, who invites some of his fellow cast members to his new home which has many unusual features including a “special” room. When one of his guests is stabbed to death, things turn dangerous. Gillette assumes the persona of Holmes to identify the murderer and prevent further killings. The principals were well cast. Despite experiencing a recent family bereavement, Jonathan Tibbs took the lead role and delivered a first rate portrayal of Gillette. Ably supporting him in the stage role of ‘dotty mother’ Martha, was Mandie Collier. Jodie Schweikhardt – as Inspector Harriet, an English eccentric who was either with it or without it, was well into character. Other roles were played by Charlie Russell as Simon, Holly Whitaker as Aggie, Collette Buchanan-Gray as Daria, Andrew Rudd as Felix, Laura Scott  as Madge  and Lauren Earth,  who made a “Special Appearance”. The production had good pace and was staged on a cleverly designed and soundly constructed set, I thought the costumes were most appropriate. This production had Zack Colam making his Directing debut strongly supported by Producer Charles Long and there were several newcomers to SADOS included in the capable cast.  My congratulations to all in this team for delivering such a highly entertaining performance delivered with great zest and skill, I look forward to witnessing more of the same!
