The Full Monty is based on the 1997 hit film set in Sheffield England, the musical of the same name is set in America in Buffalo New York.  The book is by Terrence McNally and the music and lyrics by David Yazbek.

This powerful and passionate story of the steel workers tells of the personal insecurities and of the characters doubts, fears and desperation from redundancy.

The show commences with the Ladies ensemble celebrating a night out to see a prodfessional stripper, "Keno", the out of work boys Jerry and Dave see their wives having a fabulous time and decide they could make oodles of money if they did the same.

This production certainly attracted a large audience, and they were with the cast throughout, they were screaming with delight especially at the end when they really did "Let it Go" and gave them a "Full Monty", no lights to blind the audience here!

Each character portrayal of the six brave men, Jerry, (Darren Smith) Dave, (James Creegan) best mates propping each other up, Harold, (Jeremy Shoesmith) their former boss, Malcolm, (John Murphy) and Ethan, (Elliot Austin) who "found" each other, Horse, (Cev Barker) the "well hung man", all delivered brilliant performances and had the time of their life.

The full Monty show is mainly about men , but they had good commanding wives behind them, Dave's wife Georgie,( Helen Burton) sang beautifully, Pam, (Christine Shoesmith) Jerry's estranged wife gave a strong performance along with Vicki, (sheelagh Forsyth) Harolds wife.  Jerry's son Nathan, gave an excellant interpretation of his role.  Jeanettde , (Janet Peace) a piano player for the boys, delighted the audience with chain smoking, drinking character.

All, other roles were extremely well played and backed by an energetic chorus.

A wonderful, happy evenings entertainment, enjoyed by the whole of the audience and cast alike. Congratulations to everyone both on and off stage.
