It is always a pleasure attending The Children of Benllech pantomime and this year was no exception.  the cast played to the audience in what was overall a well - rehearsed show.  The plot was interesting in that it combined Jack and the Beanstalk with The Wizard of Oz and it must be said it worked really well.

As in previous years Gwion Davies played the role of Dame with aplomb, this time as quick - witted Dame Diana Daw.  Her son Jack Daw was played by Emily Williams, and both interacted superbly with each other .  Daisy Daw, the pantomime cow was played well by Heather Blackman and Jasmine Buyung-Ali, this was especially interesting in that the plot exposed them both in and out of character, the latter as individuals. Stage scenery was bold, colourful and effective.  Lighting and sound further enhanced the scenes.  The supporting cast entertained in various roles that included the schoolchildren, the wicked witch and her henchmen, very energetic singing and dancing routines by the small children.  Overall a very enjoyable show.
