This show stands on its own as an entertaining story but put it in the hands of director Royston Bayfield and it transforms into something special. The attention to detail, the additional special effects, the amazing lighting and sound effects all contributed to something very exciting.
The Addams Family story is well known from the television series and follows the life of a weird and wonderful family. Problems arise when daughter Wednesday falls in love with an 'ordinary' young man. She confides in her father but forbids him to tell her mother causing him to break his marriage promise of never keeping a secret from his wife.
What a super cast and this includes all the Ancestors each with their own individual character. The families and their faithful servant were all excellent, I couldn't possibly single any one person out. They worked as a team and a well rehearsed team at that. Their singing was clear and most importantly you could hear every word they sang.
The dance numbers were exciting to watch and the umbrellas used in some of the scenes were an inspired idea.
The show has a great score and the talented orchestra was spot on right from the finger clicking overture.
The dedication of this cast, backstage team, front of house team and production team shines through and each production brings something new to the theatre. Well done BrassNeck you gave us an evening of first class entertainment.
