This was my first introduction to The Addams Family and I must admit to being a little apprehensive, these fears were very soon dispelled as we were treated to yet another outstanding production from Woodkirk Academy. All the casting was top class with three particular brilliant contributions from Emily Bailey (Morticia), a very mature controlled performance, Alice Schofield (Wednesday), a performance with star quality written all over it, she was always convincing in every movement singing or acting and Oliver Seage (Gomez) you will have to see many shows before you see a finer performance than this, he sailed through this very difficult role without a single blemish, no words of praise are too much for his fantastic performance. The clever use of the chorus who supplemented the singing numbers was excellent and well organised and the dance routines were exceptional even by Woodkirk's standards. The Orchestra excelled under super direction from Kathryn Clarke. The brilliant costumes and fine stage sets along with fantastic lighting and great sound system did much to enhance the production. Congratulations to all the back up teams particularly to Joyce Ford and Lauren White for producing and directing this amazing production.
