What a pleasure it was to be invited once again to the Met Abertillery by LR Supernova, for their production of The Adams Family. This young company manages to portray an infectious enthusiasm that can be felt throughout the audience, from the moment the performance begins.
The characters in this iconic show are very well known and the expectations of the audience are surely to be fixed in their memories. This young cast did not let them down.
Harry Aston as Gomez Adams gave us the suave sophistication and excellent comic timing so vital in this role. A sizzling rapport with the lovely and sultry Morticia, played by Grace Livsey created the dual characters that were maintained to perfection throughout the performance.
Difficult roles for young performers and played with great expression and fluid movement. Very well done to both.
An excellent performance from Jude Evans, as Wednesday Adams. Every young girls dream role and played with perfect characterisation and superb stage presence.
Well done to Nerea Bayliss-Fernandez, as the mischief making brother Pugsley Adams. A very entertaining torture scene and a successful characterisation.
A very convincing performance by Rosie Gerrett as Grandma. Truly demented {compliment] great voice, superb body language and completely made the stage her own space. Very well done.
Who doesn’t love Uncle Fester. A difficult role for a young actor but played with great comic timing and a mature understanding for the character by Riley Edwards. Well done.
The mostly silent but expressive performance by Abigail Pritchard-Andrews brought the role of Lurch into the spotlight and the audience loved it. Well done.
Well done to Joseph Evans as Lucas Beineke. A good characterisation of the all-American boy and a perfect rapport with Wednesday.
A difficult role change for Lucy Harris as the all-American dad, Mal Beineke. A good performance both vocally and visually, keeping the characterisation throughout the
performance. Well done.
Lucia Bayliss Fernandez gave a lovely head in the clouds performance as Alice Beineke, keeping the character of the role with great facial expression.
My special congratulations to the members of the cast playing the ancestors “you were amazing”. Great movement around the stage and excellent dance routines with some superb harmony in the vocals. You made a significant difference to the look and feel of the production.
I must also congratulate your Directors and Choreographers Lauren Kate Barrett and Georgia Kate Miller, on an excellent production. The hard work has paid off. Well done to you all.
