Spring Concert 2022

I understand that this concert was originally planned to celebrate  West Moors Singers 50th Anniversary in May 2020. 

In recent years the singers have seen a slow decline in their numbers due to the ever increasing age of its long term members and a two year break caused by the pandemic has not helped their situation.  Nevertheless the choir members were determined to celebrate their 50th Anniversary even though it has been delayed by two years.

The concert was a selection of music covering the last fifty years. We were treated to a selection of songs  from Lennon and McCartney, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Abba , together with Medleys from the musicals of, Mary Poppins , Les Miserables and Sister Act

I think the singers will be first to admit that because of low numbers they struggling to achieve a balance when singing four part harmony. However there was some very enjoyable solo numbers and it was all well received by the very supportive audience.

It  thought that it was very entertaining and a most enjoyable evening.  It was also nice to catch up with friends and members of the Singers, with a cup of coffee during the interval.
