There was lots of fun in this production and it certainly cheered up a winter's evening. The cast looked good and as though they were enjoying themselves, which is very important.
A good opening with Snow White and the chorus "Dancing in the Street" and the well loved story began with a really good script by Graham Barraclough. All the songs were well performed and well accompanied by the band and the choreography worked well.
Nasim Chilcott was an ideal Snow White giving the character all it needed and Judith Foot gave us a hilarious Dame Dolly - lovely performnce, with Mandie Fairhall as the really Simple Simon. Roni Bramley was the evil Queen Catrina - plenty of boos came her way and Claire Mullan was Prince Florian, Snow White's charming love interest. All the other parts, including the villagers and village children added much to the story and the Seven Dwarfs were a delightful bunch - those youngsters knew how to act.
As always at Peacehaven, we were treated to some lovely dancing by the Harlequin Dancers. Scenery was well handled with nice use of projection and the programme was well set out. Well done to Director Tony Garwood and all involved.
