Halifax YMCA is my last pantomime of the season but as always it was full of fun and laughter with excellent scenery and colourful costumes. The Society first performed Snow White in 1951 for their first ever production.  This one was written by Ben Crocker and has introduced several different extra characters.

One new character was Wonderwings, (Andrew MacDonald) looking like an Angel, Mentor to his trainee Fairy Goodhart, (Tegan Cross) with her "L" plate on her fairy wand, working for the goodies.  Black Wing (Rodney Bussey) dressed like a Crow, was the side kick to the Wicked Witch.

I was really impressed with scheming Wicked Witch Caligula, (Karen Parkin) and Speak True, (Andrew Patchett) the booing voice coming through the mirror, an excellent scene very well excuted.

Snow White, (Rosie Hoe) and her Prince Frederick (Karen Rice) gave comendable performances.  Comedy came in the form of Danny Dumpling, (Amanda Gatehouse) and Dolly Dumpling, (Brian Curran) who kept the large audience happy with their antics.

An enthusiastic chorus and three dance teams including lots of little ones sang and moved well. Everyone loved the Teddy Bears Picnic with the lovely cuddly Bear.

The hard working self-sufficient Society must be very proud of their efforts. Congratulations to all.
