This was a producton of Snow White with a few tweeks here and there from the traditional theme. The principal boy role was a very smart looking huntsman called Harry (Catherine Nuttall) who was partnered in a most pleasing and vibrant way by Jenna McVeigh (Snow White). We had six small dwarfs and one very big one all with different names to the usual ones used. They all sung and danced with great confidence and were a treat to watch. The role of Bertie/Spirit of the mirror (Matthew Finnemore) was another slight departure from the norm but was very well played. Keith Speight gave a very fine performance as the Dame (Ma Bumble) never missing a chance to have a go at the audience and along with Victoria Gott & Kay Carter (Botchit & Leggit) kept the show moving along with plenty of humour but I did miss the big water pistol this year! The good music was well sung and the choreography was well up to the usual very high standard. I think the star of the panto was Sue Silkstone her very sophisticated bitchy performance as the Wicked Queen was brilliant.
